The Mission & Scope : rethinking the built environment
Mitigating the global climate crisis demands to transform the built environment by integrating and upscaling biobased materials and building solutions into the construction process. We must significantly advance low-carbon architecture and intelligent building design to foster resilient, liveable and beautiful urban and rural landscapes.
Innovate with Wood (WW) is an open innovation platform of wood products, renewable biobased materials, and circular and digital solutions for the decarbonisation and transformation of the construction sector towards a sustainable model.
IWW fosters open innovation among partners and provides knowledge support for turning inventions into innovations. The community upscales demonstrations and new products to facilitate their commercialisation in existing and new markets.

Connecting the biobased R&I community
The platform is aimed at researchers, companies, authorities, and other key stakeholders in the construction ecosystem. The benefits are:

IWW presented during Woodrise 2023
The platform, the demo building, and two innovations were showcased at Woodrise 2023, the global conference focusing on medium and high-rise wooden structures.
First Innovations presented in Innovate With Wood
IWW was developed as part of the Basajaun project by four research and technology organizations (RTOs) and the InnovaWood network. They established Innovate With Wood and have collected a first set of innovations to be published on the platform. The Basajaun innovations listed below have been developed, tested and demonstrated in the Basajaun Demo Building in Southern France, in close collaboration with the Department of Gironde. Currently, more innovations from other EU-funded projects are being collected and will soon be shared through Innovate With Wood.
