Inauguration Event of the Basajaun demo building

We cordially invite you to mark your calendars and save the date for the inauguration of the Basajaun demo building. The event will be held on the 23rd of April, from 9:30-12:00 am. It will combine a guided visit of the demo building as well as a press conference inclduing interventions of Monsieur Jean-Luc Gleyze (Président du Département de la Gironde), a representative of Basque authorities and Tecnalia (Basajaun project coordinator). A Q&A session if forecasted to answer questions.

Basajaun demo building: a pre-manufactured glulam frame as central structural element

The main structure of the Basajaun southern demo building is a glulam post and beam system developed by Moelven Töreboda AB in Sweden. The system called ”Wood 8” has been developed to be a slender, material efficient building system for high rise timber buildings. It has standardized components but offers great freedom to architects in terms of span, width and layout.
